TRAVEL DIARIES
May 2005 - Northern Ireland and Dublin - by Joyce Neill
The prospect of visiting Ireland for the first time in my life was more than just a "destination decision"... I felt something calling me to Ireland.
My first trip with Broad Horizons offered a perfect package which suited my budget perfectly. As a travelling single, there are so many more things to be concerned about vacationing in countries you are not familiar with while travelling alone.
Travelling with the women of Broad Horizons provided me with a stress-free vacation. I was picked up at my home and from that point on I could really relax and enjoy the magnificent itinerary that awaited me on my trip to Ireland.
I really enjoyed getting to know the other women on the tour, they were interesting, from all walks of life and really fun to be with.
The hotels exceeded my expectations and I really enjoyed the wonderful dining experiences we had in all the little restaurants, pubs and hotels we visited. The daily activities were very varied and always fun and exciting. We visited cathedrals, art galleries, and a distillery where they made the finest Irish whiskey. We also visited woollen mills where we met the weaver and purchased beautiful garments.
We had so much fun on the private boat cruise and the scenic tours we took along the coastline of Ireland ; breathtaking beauty all around. I really made some wonderful friendships as we talked, laughed, cried and sang together. They say friends are the strangers you haven't met yet. Well I made forty-two wonderful friends in the beautiful nostalgic island of Ireland. An experience I will treasure forever!
